Bossa Nova Cafe
Nan Hu Lu
The Bossa Nova bar first opened its doors July 6, 2010, and I am happy to say I was there, so I can tell you that I know the bar well. Bossa Nova is multilingual: English, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese are all spoken; moreover, being that it is such a multicultural place, there is a good chance you’ll find somebody speaking your home tongue. In addition, ever since it’s opening I’ve found it has been able to keep its friendly inviting atmosphere; no matter what country you are from; you are always greeted with a smile, and quite often a hug from Delei (one of the proprietors).
Bossa Nova has no employees; the clientele is served by the owners, who truly care about your comfort. This bar is NOT one of those large and loud dance bars, nor is it a small smoke filled place. I would say it is a relaxing bar with a lot of energy. It is a place you can go to by yourself, or with a group of friends. There is always something to do at Bossa Nova. If you are an active outgoing person who likes to get involved, then you can grab an instrument like one of the guitars hanging on the wall, or one of the percussions, and simply start playing. Soon you will have others joining you with song and dance.
The bars’ menu consists of Brazilian snacks (meats and veggies), and shelves a full selection of liquor. South American cocktails are somewhat of a specialty at Bossa Nova, in which they take their time and mix it right. Also available are coffees, teas, imported wines, as well as a large selection of beer. Both the food and drinks are not overpriced, and if you show up on a Friday you’ll get their Brazilian style barbeque for free! Yes, every Friday is free bbq night, which has remained a staple of the bar ever since it’s opening.
Bossa Nova is situated in a nice area downtown Nanchang at #5 Nan Hu Lu adjacent a small lake, which allows you to relax “Brazilian style” right on the sidewalk and enjoy the view of the lake with a drink or your bbq. You can always check verynanchang.com for Bossa Nova weekly promotions, or call Delei direct at 13576147334
